Back in the USSA. Barely. I boarded the plane 5 minutes before it took off. Everyone was cheering for me when I finally got on the plane....like an American Diplomat... returning home to her adoring people. More like, restless, jet-lagged, half-Danish diva. I miss Germany and everyone who is in Germany right now. Please let me come back?

ALSO: The Saturday after I got back home to the U.S., I tried to unpack my suitcase and I rolled that sucker right over my left foot.

Yes, I broke my pinky toe. And no. The crutches aren't mine.

7 hour car ride accross Germany with a stranger who speaks no English. Awesome! Too many windmills to count. We made it to Jürgen's home near Cologne. It's so beautiful here!!

Benjamin and I went to the Daimler Gallery at Potsdamer Platz instead. Probably a mistake. "SuperBrot" made Julia both laugh and cry.

This pizza place had graffiti all over their walls, and even though they let Pennywise, Senses Fail, From Autumn to Ashes, and Millencolin sign, we got in trouble for tagging! What the heck. Those bands are lame. I miss Nice Slice.

Friday night. Our last night in Kiel. Jesus I didn't want to say goodbye to anyone. I hope everyone knows how much I will miss them. I really really reallly had a great time getting to know everyone, and I'm coming back to Kiel as soon as possible. The Real World 2011?

Snow (a cold-front from Serbia?) delayed our trip. We spent about 14 hours on the bus from Kiel to Würzburg.

Louisa braided everyone's hair on the bus, I look like Heidi.

The Real World: Reunion Weekend Special

Saturday night, we threw a welcome back party for the "Kielers" (who just arrived home from their stay in Providence). Saturday morning, I bought turquoise pumps. This morning, I woke up at 3pm and am still exhausted. It's hard to look this good.

I know, everyone looks like they are having sooo much fun.

Anyway, we went to a bar afterwards, and I found out that if you order a tequila shot in northern Germany, they'll ask you "white or brown?" In northern Germany, they like it "brown," which is with cinnamon and an orange slice. Kat and Benjamin will show you.

It's a big day tomorrow. Reception with the Minister of Culture, head of school, official official etc. The ten of us spent all day working on a powerpoint presentation, so it should be fantastic. And Denis said he would throw a pie in the mayor's face.

we've made it, I couldn't be happier. It is icy cold and sunny, I'm feeling brisk! Our German class celebrated our arrival with dinner and drinks in their studio. They all seem very nice.

It is very difficult to type on a German keyboard, the "z" and the "y" have switched places. Also, the shift button is much smaller, and right next to the "<." So, if I'm trying to capitalize a letter, it ends up like this: "<<<<<<<>>I".
